Evie is part of the City's "VPI Program" (Virginia's Pre-school Inititaive) which offers free pre-K inside area public elementary schools. We tried to get her into Linwood Holton (the school LITERALLY 2 houses to the right of our house)... but we didn't get a spot. Evie is, instead, attending Maymont. Maymont used to be an elemementary school until a successful pilot program last year that converted the entire school into an exclusive Pre-K only school.
Yup, imagine over 250 kids all at the age of 4 inside one building. Scary, isn't it?
